Daejeon City typically is a science and research city, developed in the 1970s, and has become Korea's Silicon Valley city and Korea's fifth largest city with a population of 1.5 million. Daejeon is home to 18 universities and over 30 R&D and government agencies. It has the highest concentration of PhD holders in Korea.

Located in the centre of the country, the city is a dynamic transportation hub and is only 1 hour away from Seoul and 1.5 hour away from Busan, Korea's second largest city. Most importantly, Daejeon has all the benefits of a large city without its inconveniences (traffic, pollution, living costs) and cost of living is about 40% cheaper than Seoul.

You will be able to see more of Daejeon and learn more about the city in these videos here and here
